Editorial illustrations

Rest of World and The Washington Post | 2017-Ongoing

There are always quick turnaround illustration opportunties at a newsroom. Since I don’t come from a traditional illustration background, I like to spend time digging through kitschy stock images and reworking them into something new or playing with typography and shapes.

Risograph animation

Lucky Risograph and Zine Hug | 2026

I took a workshop at Lucky Risograph in Brooklyn with Zine Hug, transforming the look of digital video with textures and misalignments by using the analog riso process. I brought in my own animation of a cat in front of an aquarium and then learned how to: prep a video file for print, use the risograph printer and compile the prints back into a digital video file.

Sunday Arts & Style covers

The Washington Post | 2021-2023

At The Washington Post, I was an art director for the weekly Sunday Arts & Style section, designing the print pages as well as commissioning illustrations for the covers. Collaborating with talented illustrators and photographers from all corners of the world to craft one-of-a-kind images was truly a highlight of the job.
